New motorcycle tires on Ebike / Rawbike fatbike, Michelin A39 or Michelin City Grip 2

Replace 20x4.0 Kenda tire to motorcycle Michelin A39 tire

Yes, they are more weight, yes they resit puncture on another level.

Moped tire sizes are measured at the inside-diameter of the tire (just like motorcycles), but bicycle tires are measured by the average outside-diameters. A 16" motorbike tyre fits on to a 20" (407mm) bicycle rim.

406mm is the ISO standard and is what you'll likely come across.

If you want a thinner tire, check this out:

"currently using shinko 241s 3:00x16, they handle great and not as heavy as regular motorcycle tires so you dont lose much range nor speed" - Jeffrey G.

You can also fit 20x4.0 on Radrunner:

"Bra pris för två nya michelindäck, montering efter alla konstens regler, rengöring av fälgar, byte av bromsbelägg (jag hade med egna nya), 1500 kr för allt. Kvitto med moms.

2 kilo tryck i framdäcket och 2.5 kilo där bak, rullar bra, och tyst." L. Berghe

"I have only driven it 5-6 kilometers since the new tires so I thought I would wait with a deeper analysis. It is quite clear, however, that the Rawbike will be more stable while traveling, no wobble anymore. Before, I experienced that the front tire sometimes tracked and climbed away on bumps, this tire is completely round, and feels "rounder", more stable.

My hope is that these tires will withstand wear much better than the leaf-thin Kenda tires. It rolls better too, even though I had my Kendas pumped hard." - L. Berghe

"Michelin sets the standard for small- to medium-displacement motorcycle tyres. Effective on all the types of roads, the A39 and M39 combine comfort and easy handling. Their durable rubber compound makes them some of the most economical tyres you’ll find."

"Gets a little duller than the original (I drove at about 1.5kg) but you get a better driving feeling." - R. El-Ghezzaoui

  1. I think the original tires that come installed on those bicycles are very close to 90/100-16 but is impossible to find a road tire, 90/100 are only made for motocross or driving on mud..

So I think the most similar size to the original will be a 100/90-16 not a 100/80 16..

I bought a 90/80-16 and ended up realizing that the tire was so small compared to the original fat tire. Now is to late. I waisted my money..

Now I'm not sure if the 100/80 or the 100/90 will be the best or more similar to the original fat tire..

I think the 100/80 may be 10mm lower than th he original. It seems like the 100/90 should be the correct size..

    Cose the o the original seams like a 90/100 or a 100/90

    Someone has ideas
